Kimberly L. Winslow
Special Education Attorney
About Me
I was introduced to the world of special education in 2015 when my son was diagnosed with autism. I remember sitting on the other side table feeling helpless and scared, like my voice didn’t matter. With knowledge there is power, so I started familiarizing myself with special education laws, regulations, policies and procedures. I attended workshops, trainings, and continuing legal education courses, and gained invaluable experience with advocacy tactics and strategies by working directly with families. My practice began from my need to help my own child, but has been driven by my desire to make a difference in the lives of other children and families navigating this process.
My entire law practice is devoted to helping children ages 3-22 with disabilities receive a meaningful education throughout Massachusetts. I truly believe that given the right tools, all of our children can thrive in school.
I am a graduate of Suffolk University Law School and the University of Hartford. I a member of Massachusetts Attorneys for Special Education Rights (MASER), the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA) and the Special Needs Advocacy Network (SPAN). I volunteer professionally as an advocate through Federation for Children with Special Needs (FCSN) and as a Special Education Surrogate Parent for children who are in state custody. I also co-lead my daughter’s Girl Scout troop, and proudly support the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism.
